How to Succeed in Online Education
Earning your degree online gives you the flexibility to achieve your career goals at your own pace, on your own terms. However, online classes are no less demanding than traditional classes. Distance learners must be highly organized and self-motivated, perhaps more so than students in an on-campus classroom. To increase your chances of having a successful online learning experience consider these tips:
- Invest in an up-to-date computer and a high-speed internet connection
- Know your own learning style. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Participate in your class. Ask questions and speak up if you are having problems.
- Use your time effectively. Mark deadlines on the calendar
- Create a private study area where you are free from distractions
- Establish a daily schedule for studying
- Enlist a support system. Make sure your family, friends, and co-workers understand your commitment to your education
